- Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recently announced and invited online applications from eligible candidates for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination. The total number of vacancies under this exam was 5000 posts (approx).

SSC CHSL Tier – II Descriptive Test Pattern
- The descriptive test will be of total 100 marks.
- The duration of the paper will be for one hour.
- The descriptive test will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
SSC CHSL Tier – III Exam (Skill Test / Typing Test)
Skill Test for Data Entry Operator
- Data entry speed on computer key depression of 8,000 (eight thousand) per hour.
- For the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):- Speed test of not more than 15000 critical depressions per hour for data entry work through Speed Test on Computer.
- Based on correct entry of words/keys as per given passage the speed of ‘8000 key depressions per hour on computer’ will be postponed and duration of said Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter will be approx 2000-2200 strokes/keys -Depressed English will be given to each candidate who will enter the same in the computer.
- The speed of 15000 key depressions per hour on the computer will be declared on the basis of correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage. Duration of Test will be 15 (Fifteen) Minutes and printed matter in English with approx 3700 – 4000 Key – Depression given to each candidate who will enter the same in computer
Typing Test for Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant and LDC / JSA
- Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute and those candidates for Hindi medium should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute.
- The speed will be judged on the accuracy of typing on the computer of the given lesson passage in 10 minutes. VH/OH (suffering from Cerebral Palsy) and OH with deformity in writing hand (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes including compensatory time 20 minutes.
- 35 wpm and 30 w.p.m. corresponds to 10500 major depressions per hour and 9000 major depressions per hour, respectively.
